Very popular in Taiwan, Kaoliang liquor is a type of Baijiu made from the sorghum grain. Baijiu is a Chinese liquor that is clear in color and very strong in taste. Typically, only grandpas would drink it.

The name "Jing Lao" is the English romanization of a Chinese term that means "respect for the elderly”. Each product of this Taiwanese brand of Kaoliang liquor features a funky, urban, and super stylish grandparent. Each figure also represents one of Taiwan's most popular surnames: Chen, Lin, Huang, Chang, Li, Wang, Wu, Liu, Tsai, Yang, and Liang.
